The Florida RV SuperShow and America’s Largest RV Show were both named among the nation’s 10 best trade shows in a recent report by the Trade Show News Network (TSNN), one of the leading sources of online news for the trade show industry.
The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held in January in Las Vegas, snagged the No. 1 spot on the 2018 TSNN Top Trade Shows list, which ranked 250 trade shows held around the country based on net square feet (NSF) of paid exhibit space. The CES show spanned 2,784,167 net square feet and drew 111,854 attendees to venues that included the Las Vegas Convention Center, Sand Expo Convention Center and several others in the city.
With a 1,171,084 net square feet, the “Tampa Show” was ranked at No. 8 on the list. Hosted by the Florida RV Trade Association (FRVTA), the Tampa Show takes place annually each January at the Florida State Fairgrounds. The 2019 Tampa Show set an attendance record of 74,286 attendees.
The “Hershey Show” was No. 9 with a reported 1,047,866 net square feet. Hosted by the Pennsylvania RV & Campground Association (PRVCA), the show takes place each September at the Giant Center in Hershey, Pa. In large part due to Hurricane Florence buffeting the Mid-Atlantic Coast, the Hershey Show saw a modest drop in attendance last year compared to 2017’s record crowd.
Both RV shows finished just behind the 2018 SEMA Show (Specialty Equipment Market Association) and its reported net square feet of 1,210,000.
Once again, Las Vegas easily topped the 2018 TSNN Top Trade Shows list with 48 shows held in the city. Orlando and Chicago tied for the No. 2 spot for cities with most shows on the list, with 21, followed by Atlanta, with 17; New York, with 13; San Diego, with 11; Anaheim, Boston and New Orleans, with nine; and Dallas rounded out the top 10 cities with eight.
