Theodore Gilbert Kaplan, founder with his wife, Ann, of supplier Stag-Parkway in 1968, passed away peacefully on Aug. 24. He was 89.
Stag-Parkway grew to include 11 distribution centers throughout the U.S. providing products and services to the RV aftermarket, including merchandising, inventory control, customer contact and Internet functions.
During his career, he also served as a founding member of the Warehouse Distributors Association, which brought together suppliers and distributors in the RV aftermarket. Acknowledging his accomplishments, Kaplan was enshrined in the RV/MH Hall of Fame in 1997.
Kaplan was born in Hazelton Pa., and was working in the garment industry when he relocated to the south. Kaplan took pride in his successful business partnership with Ann, but also enjoyed an immensely compatible relationship for worldwide travel, entertaining, theater, symphony, and friendships. However, Kaplan’s greatest joy was being with his loving family.
Kaplan is survived by his wife, Ann, his sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Betty Sunshine, Stan and Luci Sunshine; his grandchildren Michael and Maya Sunshine, Justin and Jennifer Sunshine, Marshall Sunshine, and Blake and Adam Leiber; and great grandchildren, Ethan and Leo Sunshine, Lev Leiber, and Jackson Sunshine. He will be missed by all who knew him as a loving, humble, generous, and gracious man. Funeral services were held Aug. 26 in Atlanta.
