Teschner Motorhome Manufacturer LLC, with operations in Elkhart, Ind., and Brehna, Germany, showcased this 34-foot mid-engine diesel Teschner Coach Class A sport utility RV (SURV) in its 2006 lineup, which is being marketed for the first time in the U.S. A Spartan ME2 mid-engine chassis accommodating a 10-foot garage beneath the rear bedroom is shipped to Germany, where the coach is built and its interior components assembled. The unit is then sent to Elkhart, where electrical wiring and plumbing is installed to meet U.S. codes. The coaches, powered by Cummins engines with up to 600-hp, are also available in a 40-foot diesel pusher version on a Spartan K2 chassis. The Teschner Coach ME 240SG shown here retails for $190,000. “We created a European style for a European customer who demands a very high level of quality,” said principal Jan Teschner.
