Jack Sisemore Traveland of Amarillo, Tex., plans to add a 20,000-square-foot lot next to its existing facility, according to the Amarillo Globe-News.
Owner Jack Sisemore declined to provide additional details to the newspaper, although he said more will be revealed prior to the company’s 30th anniversary celebration, which is scheduled for May.
Sisemore Traveland sells Winnebago Industries motorhomes along with the Sprinter, Montana, Cougar, Springdale and Outback brands of towables built by Thor Industries’ subsidiary Keystone RV Co.
In addition to the RV industry’s expected growth resulting from the huge Baby Boom generation entering its peak RV-buying years, the Amarillo economy is expected to grow because its local government was able to get Textron Inc. subsidiary Bell Helicopter to build a new plant in Amarillo to supply the Marine Corps with helicopters.
Amarillo Mayor Trent Sisemore also is the general manager of Sisemore Traveland.
