Developers are already lining up to take advantage of the Bell County (Texas) Expo Center’s $24.6 million expansion that may bring a nearly $6 million spending bump, according to tdtnews.com.
The latest is Austin-based Spark Root Development. The developer plans to build commercial and retail space, as well as an RV park on a nearly 22-acre tract located east of Interstate 35 and south of Grove Road.
This is the third proposed RV park near the Expo Center. The Expo expansion is expected to be complete this summer.
The development successfully jumped through its first hoop in late March. The Belton City Council unanimously approved a zoning change for the property, located at 3360 I-35.
The land is now a planned development commercial zone. This allows the developer to construct anything allowed under the retail district zone, as well as hotels, auto sales and department stores. Previously, the property was zoned for agricultural use on top of the planned development commercial zone.
