Anthony Nalli’s The RVers is back for another season, as the popular RV show continues to explore the RV lifestyle and showcase adventures many dream of, according to a press release. Season 8 will premiere Sunday, October 4, at 7:30 a.m. ET/PT, on Discovery Channel’s East and West feeds.
Nalli, an enthusiastic RV owner, credits the show’s success to its documentary style and active engagement with viewers.
“Unlike a dramatic series, we create no fictional content,” said Nalli. “We are definitely not reality TV. Instead, we visit locations where noteworthy events occur, capture them on camera and share that footage with others who share similar interests.”
The RVers seems to have found a winning formula with their audience, while encouraging and motivating those who aren’t RVers yet — or are not actively RVing — to give it a try.
For example, Nalli shared a story about a couple in their mid-50s he met on a recent RV trip to Alaska.
“We were in a campground in this little town of Tok, and this fellow came up to me and asked if I was the RV TV guy,” he said. “After a bit, he said that years earlier he had given up his horse trailer/camper, but after watching the RVers, he got inspired. Now he and his wife are back into RVing and on their maiden trip in their new camper.”
While The RVers is a hit with viewers, the show has also earned critical acclaim. Season 7 earned six new Tellys at the 47th Annual Telly Awards, including 2 Silver Tellys in Series: Education & Discovery and Series: Travel & Tourism, plus 3 individual awards. The Telly Awards featured over 13,000 entries from across the globe, including top video and television content producers. The Telly Awards Judging Council, which comprises more than 250 experts across the world of video, selected the winners.
