RV industry supplier Thetford/Norcold of Ann Arbor, Mich., has purchased European toilet manufacturer Tecma s.r.l., of Civita Castellana, Italy.
Tecma, a builder of fine china toilets, becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Thetford’s European arm, Thetford B.V. of Etten-Leur, Netherlands.
“We’re pleased to add Tecma to the Thetford/Norcold family,” President and CEO Michael Harris said. “This acquisition is part of a continuing effort to provide customers with the most complete line of permanent toilets possible. It improves an already strong lineup and helps cement Thetford/Norcold’s standing as the world’s leading supplier of RV sanitation products.”
According to a press release, Tecma toilets, which include the Silence and Prestige lines, are known for their distinctive styling. They also incorporate an innovative waste-transfer system, which allows holding tanks and toilets to be placed anywhere within an RV’s floorplan.
The Tecma product lineup is not new to Thetford, which entered into a sales agreement and began selling Tecma products as part of the purchase of Wilcox Crittenden of Middletown, R.I., in November.
“Our North American RV customers are excited about our relationship with Tecma and the opportunities it brings for them,” Harris said.
