The Go RVing Committee on Excellence voted Monday (Sept. 24) to conduct a third consumer sentiment survey beginning in January 2003.

The survey to be conducted in 2003 will involve the owners of model year 2002 units. The purpose of the survey will be to help manufacturers build better products, for dealers to learn how to improve the sales process and for campground operators to learn how to make their customers’ stays more enjoyable.

The committee voted against a proposal to survey the owners of older model year RVs, including those with expired warranties. One reason for the decision was because the previous surveys, conducted in 1999 and 2001, involved newer units.

The committee also voted to retain RoperASW to conduct the survey during 2003.

RoperASW was known as Roper Starch Worldwide until Aug. 3 when it was acquired by NOP World, a unit of United Business Media.

Because Roper Starch conducted the consumer survey earlier this year, because there has been no staff turnover since it became RoperASW, and because RoperASW’s parent company has no conflicts of interest with the committee’s objectives, the committee voted to continue its relationship with RoperASW.
