The Thor America subsidiary of Thor Industries Inc. believes the SkyDeck fifth-wheel it will introduce at this year’s Louisville Show will be the most important innovation since slideouts and basement storage, said Bill Bruce, sales and marketing manager for the product.

This year’s National RV Trade Show will take place from Nov. 27-29.

Middleburg, Pa.-based Thor America, manufacturer of Citation- and Chateau-brand towables, will be the exclusive manufacturer of the SkyDeck, Bruce added.

Although specifications are not currently available, Bruce said the “Rooftop Entertainment Deck” will provide “40% more entertainment space than comparable length units.”

The entertainment deck includes lounge seating that folds down and can be covered to reduce of total height of the unit so it could be towed along the highways, Bruce said.

A built-in barbecue and wet-bar are among the options.

Although retail prices have not been set, Bruce said the SkyDeck will be a “popularly priced” unit.

There are plans to add a travel trailer to the SkyDeck line-up, Bruce added.
