Five Thor Industries Inc. subsidiaries – four located within a few miles of each other – will for the first time coordinate dealer open houses in northern Indiana the week of June 20.
“We weren’t taking advantage of a leverage point – that most of us are located in the same area,” said Tim Howard, president of Breckenridge Recreational Park Trailers, Nappanee, Ind. “There is an opportunity here for a series of synchronized open houses.”
The coordination is unprecedented among publicly owned Thor Industries companies, which are known for their independence from each other.
Besides Breckenridge, Thor companies participating are Airstream Inc., Jackson Center, Ohio, which will display its product at Four Winds International Corp., Elkhart; Damon Corp., Elkhart; and Dutchmen Manufacturing Inc., Goshen.
Howard said rather than the five companies staging separate dealer shows at different times, the week-long event – being called “Thor Fusion” – will give dealers multiple opportunities to see new Thor Industries products in a short period of time.
“It makes sense for the dealers,” Howard said. “A very significant percentage of the overall dealer population in the nation has been invited.”
