Thor Industries Inc. announced today the formation of General Coach Canada, which consolidates operations in Hensall, Ontario, and Oliver, British Columbia, into a single business entity.
According to Jackson Center, Ohio-based Thor, General Coach will continue manufacturing in both locations with headquarters in Hensall, allowing the builder to “streamline operations, product development and better serve dealers.”
“This move will ensure our success for the future,” said Roger Faulkner, president and general manager of the newly formed entity. “The marketplace is changing and our strategy, like any thriving organization, is to adapt and become an even stronger competitor within it.”
Prior to the consolidation, General Coach Oliver and General Coach Hensall shared some brand names, but operated independently. As part of the move, Tom Snyder (Oliver) and Chris Faulkner (Hensall) are being promoted to vice presidents of sales while the sales staff in both locations will remain intact.
The Hensall facility builds recreational park trailers while the Oliver site produces fifth-wheels and travel trailers designed for year-round living. Thor said the consolidation will allow the Oliver facility to also produce park models while marketing its towable lines throughout the General Coach national dealer network.
