Thor Industries Inc. announced today (July 26) a reorganization of its management team, including the promotion of Richard E. Riegel from president of subsidiary Airstream Inc. to group president of Thor.
In a press release, the Jackson Center, Ohio-based recreational vehicle and bus builder said the moves were designed to “accelerate its growth and leadership in its two industries.”
Thor companies that will report to Riegel include: Airstream, Thor California Inc., Komfort Corp., CrossRoads RV, Breckenridge and Canadian firms General Coach-Oliver, B.C., and General Coach-Hensall, Ontario.
Other Thor subsidiaries, including Keystone RV Co., Four Winds International Corp., Dutchmen Manufacturing Inc., Damon Corp. and Thor Bus, will continue to report to Thor Chairman Wade F. B. Thompson.
Thor said that Airstream has more than doubled sales and profits have increased tenfold since Riegel was named president in 2002.
Other moves include:
• The promotion of Robert Wheeler to president and CEO of Airstream from vice president of product development and engineering.
• Lawrence J. Huttle continues as Airstream’s chairman and Mark Wahl has been promoted to Airstream’s senior vice president of operations.
• Michael Stout, former president of Thor America, has been named vice president of Thor.
• Bette Clark, former director of purchasing at Four Winds International Corp. in Elkhart, Ind., has been promoted to Thor director of purchasing.
