Boosted by strong RV sales, Thor Industries Inc., of Jackson Center, Ohio, announced today (Aug. 3) record sales for the fourth quarter and 12 months ended July 31.
Sales for the quarter totaled $624 million, representing a 48% increase over last year. RV sales were up 56% at $571 million, which included $53 million in sales revenue from motorhome builder Damon Corp., acquired by Thor in September last year.
For the year, Thor, which also manufactures midsize buses, posted $2.187 billion in sales, up 39% from $1.571 billion last year. RV sales for the 12 months were $1.972 billion, a 46% increase from $1.354 billion last year.
Damon sales were $210 million for the year while bus sales were $215 million, versus $217 million last year.
Thor, the industry’s No. 1 towable builder, also reported record backlog on July 31 of $495 million, including an RV backlog of $361 million.
