Walt Bennett, senior vice president and secretary of Thor Industries Inc., will serve as chairman of the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) for 2001.
Bennett was elected during the RVIA’s board recent meeting in Napa, Calif.
Other RVIA officers for 2001 include: First Vice Chairman Claire Skinner, chairman of Coachmen Industry Inc.; 2nd Vice Chairman Bruce Hertzke, president and CEO of Winnebago Industries Inc.; Secretary Tom Faludy, president of Carefree of Colorado Inc.; Treasurer Carl Pfalzgraf, vice president of sales and marketing, Atwood Mobile Products.
John Willibrand, president of Play-Mor Trailers Inc., joined the board for a three-year term.
Re-elected to three-year terms on the board were Bennett, Skinner, Bob Lee, chairman of Country Coach Inc.; Virgil Miller, president of Newmar Corp.; and B.J. Thompson, president of B.J. Thompson Associates.
The board also approved a $10.5 million budget for 2001, up from $10.1 million in 2000. Among the budget’s provisions were the elimination of an automotive engineer in the van division and establishment of two new positions in the government affairs department.
The 2001 budget also eliminated $37,500 that RVIA had been contributing to the Recreation Vehicle/ Manufactured Housing Hall of Fame in Elkhart, Ind.
