Thor Industries Inc. reports that its RV order backlog currently is a record $247 million, more than triple its backlog of $68 million as of this time a year ago.
The $68 million figure does not include the backlog of Keystone, the manufacturer of towable RVs that Thor acquired last Nov. 9. The Keystone acquisition doubled Thor’s retail market share in the combined travel trailer/fifth-wheel category.
Additionally, Thor announced today that its motorhome operations got a boost as a result of the company getting a $14 million order from RV rental firm Cruise America for building 350 Class C motorhomes. The rental coaches will be built and shipped primarily during May by Thor’s Four Winds motorhome assembly subsidiary in Elkhart, Ind.
