Thor Industries Inc. reports its RV sales revenue doubled during the three months ended Tuesday (April 30) largely because of its acquisition of Keystone RV Co. last Nov. 9.
During the February-through-April period, Thor’s RV sales totaled $301 million, compared with $147 million a year earlier.
For the nine months ended April 30, Thor’s RV sales climbed 62% higher to $632 million.
Meanwhile, Thor’s RV dealer order backlog amounted to a record $361 million as of April 30, a 43% increase from $252 million as of April 30, 2001. The year-earlier RV order backlog figure does not include Keystone’s backlog as of that date.
The Jackson Center, Ohio-based Thor also is a major producer of mid-sized buses and its bus sales during the company’s third fiscal quarter, which ended April 30, totaled $67 million, compared with $74 million during the same three month period a year earlier.
For the nine months ended April 30, Thor’s bus sales totaled $215 million, about equaling the total for the year-earlier period.
Thor, a New York Stock Exchange-listed company, will report is complete third fiscal quarter financial report in about five weeks.
