Thousand Trails Inc., owner/operator of membership-based campgrounds, reports its earnings soared 86% higher during its third fiscal quarter, which ended March 31.
The Dallas-based company earned $2.2 million during the three months ended March 31. During the nine months ended March 31, its net earnings climbed 70% higher to $6 million.
Meanwhile, the company’s total revenue climbed 14% higher during the three months ended March 31 to $19.7 million. During the nine months ended March 31, its total revenue increased 13% to $64.9 million.
“We continue to see strong performance in two key areas: membership contract originations and dues collections,” said Bill Shaw, president and CEO. “We originated $6.3 million in membership contracts in the third (fiscal) quarter, compared with $5 million last year. Our dues collections have remained steady.”
Thousand Trails has 115,000 members and operates 59 membership-based camping preserves in 17 states and British Columbia, Canada. It also provides a reciprocal use program for members of around 300 recreational facilities and manages 241 public campgrounds for the U.S. Forest Service and other entities.
