Thousand Trails Inc., the largest operator of membership-based campgrounds in the United States, announced the opening of its newest campground, the Peace River preserve in Wauchula, Fla.
Situated along a half mile of the Peace River in central Florida, the property offers more than 400 RV and tent sites on 75 acres.
“The Peace River campground will complement our other preserves in the Orlando area, giving members greater opportunity to enjoy the RV and camping lifestyle in the Southeast,” said John Malone, president and CEO of the Frisco, Texas-based company.
According to a press release, the Peace River preserve has been designated as a NACO preserve, but will also be available to members in the Thousand Trails and Leisure Time systems.
The year-round campground features 50-amp electrical service at select RV and camping sites, a heated swimming pool, hot tub, and sauna.
There also are pavilion meeting facilities, food services at the park, nature trails and several outdoor recreational activities.
