Screen Shot 2015-02-26 at 10.55.05 AMIn a world full of over-the-top commercial claims, Shipshewana, Ind.-based Forks RV bills its custom-built, full-time Continental Coach as “America’s premier custom luxury fifth-wheel.” That’s an apt description of their triple-axle 43-footer. (The company builds floorplans in lengths from 37 to 43 feet as well as a five-slideout 32-foot travel trailer.) Crafted around a heavy-gauge welded-aluminum superstructure and one-piece fiberglass roof, the three-slide unit is equipped with virtually everything imaginable — and buyers can have a lot of input, from floorplans to interior and exterior colors. “The nice thing about custom is we will do whatever the customer wants,” noted sales associate Mike Butler, pointing out that equipment ranges from an Aqua-Hot motorhome-style system with radiant heat to a multiplex Firefly home theater system “that you hit a button and the lights go off, shades go down and the TV comes on with full surround sound.” All floorplans are geared toward full-time live-in use and feature king beds, washer-and-dryer cabinets, 36-inch radius showers, generous kitchen and appliance space, and TV cabinets in the bed and living rooms.
