Nappanee, Ind.-based Gulf Stream Coach Inc. turned up production last summer, debuting both a laminated widebody toy hauler — named, logically enough, Wide Open — and a Gulf Breeze 30RKP, a 35-foot travel trailer with a 60-square-foot side patio capable of supporting 2,500 pounds of campers, friends and equipment. Access to the Gulf Breeze patio is through a sliding glass door, and the company built the unit to allow the interior TV to be placed on mounts for outside viewing (or add another to the sealed compartment). There’s even a small refrigerator and a cubbyhole for storing snacks. “The patio is available from Gulf Stream’s Gulf Breeze and Streamlite divisions as a Champagne series (trim level) unit,” noted Paul Campbell, the towable RV builder’s director of marketing. Inside, the 10,600-pound GVWR ($31,167 MSRP) trailer features the galley along the rear wall, with a U-shaped dinette and hide-a-bed sofa in the rear street-side slide, buttressed by an eat-in counter/bar with stools opposite and an entertainment center in the forward bulkhead. A second street-side slide forward houses a mirrored wardrobe within the bedroom suite.
