The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) has booked two compelling speakers for the seminar portion of RVIA’s Annual Meeting, taking place the morning of March 11 at the Ritz Carlton in Sarasota, Fla.
John Bozella, president and CEO of Global Automakers, will present “Connected Cars on American Roadways – A Discussion about Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communications and Automotive Safety.” According to a report in RVIA Today Express, he will focus on the convergence of technology and mobility and how connected vehicles could revolutionize highway safety with wireless communications between vehicles warning drivers of potential dangers and saving thousands of lives each year.
Bozella is a veteran auto industry executive. Prior to joining Global Automakers, he worked for Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler in public policy positions and most recently served as a senior operating executive for Cerberus Operations and Advisory Co. LLC, where he worked with the firm and its portfolio companies on a broad range of public policy and economic development matters.
Carlos Alcazar will focus on cross-culture promotions in “Marketing the Outdoors and RVs to the New American Mainstream Population.” It’s no secret that the U.S. population is becoming more diverse with the U.S. Census Bureau reporting that more than half of newborns in recent years were minorities and that one in four kids under age five are Hispanic. Even the millennial segment is currently 40% Hispanic, African American and Asian American, with that number projected to be more than 50% within the next 10 years. Alcazar will explain why the RV and travel industries can’t afford to ignore this fast-changing demographic segment and share insights and strategies for engagement with this group.
Alcazar is a media and marketing expert that works with a wide range of organizations to reach America’s diverse population. He currently leads the growth of digital-centric advertising firm The Tombras Group’s Washington D.C. practice and is founder and chairman of the cross cultural communications agency Culture ONE World.
“We are excited about adding John Bozella and Carlos Alcazar to our Annual Meeting agenda,” said RVIA President Richard Coon. “They will examine two very topical issues that will have an impact on the industry concerning the future design and marketing of RVs.”
