Trailer Life, America’s best-known and best-read monthly magazine for RV enthusiasts, will celebrate its 60th anniversary with its July 2001 issue.
The magazine began as a small regional publication called Western Trailer Life and it sold for 10 cents on the newsstand and subscribers paid $1 a year for a subscription. Its audience was the people, including many U.S. government employees, who moved to California during World War II and used travel trailers as temporary housing.
Advertising executive Art Rouse purchased the magazine in 1958 and renamed it Trailer Life, transforming it into a national publication about the joys of RV travel.
Each issue of Trailer Life includes vehicle tests, technical articles, product evaluations, do-it-yourself projects and features about travel destinations, special events, lifestyle tips and usual RV people.
Trailer Life, RV Business and RVBUSINESS.COM all are published by TL Enterprises Inc., a unit of Affinity Group Holding Inc. of Ventura, Calif.
