A small Illinois company has debuted a light-weight folding camping trailer – Out ‘N About – that sets up automatically when it opens. “Everything that we’ve see on the market, you have to put it together like a Tinker Toy set before you can put the tent up,” said Charlie Reeves, president of Trailman Inc., Paris, Ill. “This has three latches and will set up in two minutes or less.” The camper weighs 430 pounds, and can be towed by almost any vehicle, including a motorcycle, Reeves said. Currently, a double-bed floorplan is available for an MSRP of $3,495 with a standard double bed supported by legs that extend automatically when the unit is opened. A floorplan with twin beds extending from each side of the unit is under development. “The twin-bed floorplan is probably going to be more popular,” Reeves said. “We were shooting for the entry-level step up from tent camping. But we found that most of the interest is from sportsmen and motorcyclists who want to pull it behind their big Harleys.”
