Bloomfield, Mich,-based TriMas Corp. today (Jan. 14) announced that David M. Wathen, 56, has been appointed president and CEO while also taking a seat on the company’s board.
Wathen succeeds Grant H. Beard, who recenlty resigned.
According to a release, Wathen brings over three decades of industry experience. Most recently, he served as president and CEO of the North American Operations of Balfour Beatty Inc., a publicly-traded UK-based engineering, construction, services and investment business.

In November, publicly traded Trimas announced that it was consolidating its towing, trailer and electrical products businesses into one business unit under a single management team.
The company services the RV industry through its Cequent Group, comprised of several towing product brands that include Draw-Tite, Reese, Fulton, Wesbar, Bull Dog, Hidden Hitch and Tekonsha.
