Representatives from Germany-based Truma, a leading supplier to the European RV market, delivered pastries this morning to RV firms participating in this week’s Elkhart Open House to promote the company’s brand and its product lines.
According to a press release, Truma opened its American headquarters in Elkhart, Ind., last year. The family held company is a major supplier in an array of product categories from heating to air conditioning to water systems, propane and power supply equipment as well as popular remote controlled Mover-brand maneuvering devices for towable RVs.
“We just wanted to show everyone how much we appreciate being part of the World’s RV Capital,” said Elden Wood, vice president sales and marketing. “We also wanted to tell them how eager and ready we are to contribute to the success of RV manufacturers and dealers by offering new ideas and solutions never seen before in this market. Along with the pastries, we’ll be offering manufacturer personnel a chance to preview, in November, a new product that we will unveil at the National RV Trade Show in Louisville.”
He added, “But most of all, we just want to say, we’re pleased to be your neighbor and we look forward to doing business with you.”
Truma has been a top supplier to the RV market in Europe, Australia and a number of other countries for the past 65 years. This is the first time it has established a presence in the American market and, in a certain sense, it has come home to the land of its namesake. Truma’s founder named the company after U.S. President Harry Truman, in appreciation for the Marshall Plan and the financial aid President Truman helped deliver to Western Europe in the devastating aftermath of World War II, which helped many companies like Truma get started.
