“The RV Book,” authored by RV Education 101 co-founder Mark Polk, offers a generic guide for RV enthusiasts to better understand all aspects of ownership. First published in 2006, the book has sold more than 49,000 copies and was just updated to include more of the technical aspects of owning today’s RV.

“We’ve had five reprints but this is an actual update of the book to include a lot of new technical information,” said RV Education 101 co-founder Dawn Polk. “For many years there wasn’t much that changed on RVs. Now we took out a lot of outdated information and included new operating systems such as the new tankless water heater systems that are now available. Updates on gas, electrical and water systems have also been included.”

Polk emphasized that “The RV Book”  remains generic to accommodate owners of all brands of RVs in the field, supplementing owners manuals that sometimes lack the detail needed to truly understand how to operate an RV.

“We absolutely advise RV clubs and even manufacturers to use our book as a supplemental source of information,” said Dawn Polk. “Bob Zagami, the director of the New England RV Dealers Association, has been taking the book to all his dealerships to help owners navigate operating an RV.”

“I just had a dealer from Provo, Utah, call me yesterday and she shared that most operating manuals that come with RVs are really awful and our book helps her owners. The manufacturers should really promote and encourage our book because we never show brands, just generic systems,” Dawn Polk added.

According to the company, Mark Polk turns complex RV issues into easy-to-understand step-by-step procedures making the owners experiences safe, fun and more stress-free. Nothing will ruin a trip or a vacation quicker than not understanding how to properly use and maintain an RV.

“Buying an RV is a major investment and a new RVer can be overwhelmed when just starting out,” he said. “Whether you own an RV now, or you are getting ready to purchase one in the future, I know that by reading ‘The RV Book’ you will feel more comfortable about using an RV.”

He explained that he tried to touch on all aspects of RV ownership: from selecting and buying the right RV, to setting it up at the campground, and even what type of RV is right for the owner’s family. The book includes how to tow and drive an RV as well as how to safely operate and maintain an RV. “I have gathered and researched all of the information and condensed it into one place to simplify the entire process of RV ownership,” said Mark.

The book retails for $19.95 at dealerships, bookstores and Amazon, but the Polks are providing special volume pricing to those directly involved in the industry. “We are willing to provide 50% off to dealers who purchase a case of 24,” said Dawn Polk. “But if we were talking larger volumes for manufacturers we would definitely work out a deal. This is that brand new edition that rolled off the presses just three weeks ago.”

An entire course featuring the book is available at www.rveducation101.com. The Polks also announced the introduction of their new online training courses for consumers. View the introductory video on this new training program at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsaGgAc9jLw&feature=youtu.be.
