Shipments of van conversions from manufacturers to auto dealers declined 28.6% in June, according to the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA).

A total of 5,000 van conversion units were delivered to dealers in June, compared with 7,000 units shipped during June 2000, the RVIA reports.

During the first half of this year, van conversion shipments declined 48.9% to 22,300 units.

Meanwhile, deliveries of converted pickups fell 45.5% in June to 1,800 units and converted pickup deliveries were down 52.2% after the first half of this year to 9,500 units.

Shipments of converted sport utility vehicles (SUVs) were flat in June at 400 units and deliveries of converted SUVs were down 26.3% during the first half of this year to 2,800 units.
