Van conversion shipments continued on the upswing during April, according to data gathered by the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA).
Van conversion shipments from the factories to auto dealers climbed 12.8% in April to 4,400 units and van conversion deliveries were up 16.8% after the first four months of this year to 15,300 units.
However, the downward trend in shipments of converted pickups continued. Converted pickup shipments fell 25% in April to 1,200 units and were down 32.8% during the first four months of this year to 4,100 units.
Meanwhile, deliveries of converted sport utility vehicles (SUVs) improved by 50% in April to 600 units, but converted SUV shipments still were down 30% after the first four months of this year to 1,400 units.
