Fleetwood Industries Inc. recently laid off an unspecified number of people in sales positions, including Luc van Herle, motorized product marketing manager, and Bob Rogers, towable product marketing manager.
“We are not publishing any number, but we did reduce our force,” said Heather Everett, spokesman for the Riverside, Calif., RV manufacturer. “Most of them were not based at corporate.”
She confirmed that van Herle and Rogers were among those let go. “Both of those positions were eliminated,” Everett said. “We are doing what we have to do.”
Fleetwood reported a 41% drop in sales for its fiscal 2009 first quarter, which ended July 27, pulled down by a 52% decline in RV revenue compared with the year-ago period.
