Villa International, an Anaheim, Calif. manufacturer of interior furnishings for use in motorhomes, has opened a new plant in Elkhart, Ind., to better serve the RV manufacturers in the Elkhart area, according to the South Bend Tribune in Indiana.
The decision was made to open an Elkhart plant because RV manufacturers are increasingly demanding just-in-time delivery from their suppliers, according to Tom Nickel, general manager of Villa’s Indiana operation.
Villa, who was interviewed by the Tribune, makes driver and passenger seats, recliners, sofa, dinettes and custom furniture for installation in motorhomes.
The company opened a 45,000-square-foot plant in Elkhart in December. It currently employs 14 people and more will be hired as needed, Nickel said.
Villa continues to operate a 50,000-square-foot plant in Southern California.
