Veteran newsman Steve Bibler, a former business writer and city editor for The Truth of Elkhart, Ind., is assuming the editorship of Woodall’s Campground Management (WCM), starting with the May issue.
He succeeds Terri Hughes-Lazzell, who will continue to contribute to WCM and other AGI publications as she expands her freelance editorial work from her Ossian, Ind., office.
An Elkhart native, Bibler is a journalism graduate of Indiana University and a 33-year veteran of The Truth, a mid-size daily in the nation’s so-called “RV Capital.”
“It is with mixed feelings that we make this announcement because at the same time we are ushering in a new era for our national campground trade monthly with the addition of a seasoned journalist, we are moving on from a foundational phase during which we assumed the reins of the national trade monthly from Woodall Publications Corp. after its acquisition by our parent company, Affinity Group Inc. (AGI),” said WCM Publisher Sherman Goldenberg, who also oversees WCM’s sister publication, RV Business. “Terri has been a key part of that transitional team, and we look forward to working with her more in the future as a contributor.”
Hughes-Lazzell, a former staffer for The Journal-Gazette of Fort Wayne, Ind., had the following words to say regarding her tenure as editor of WCM: “It has been a challenging and rewarding six years spent as editor of Woodall’s Campground Management. Since taking over the publication in 2000, we have seen so many changes in this industry sector. But one thing has been constant – the willingness of the experts, park owners and operators, and association members and officers to give their time and expertise to us for use in WCM. I would like to thank all of you; it’s been a pleasure working with you and working for you each month.”
