Former Fleetwood Enterprises Inc. executive Bob Wert is the new vice president of RV sales, marketing and product planning at Workhorse Custom Chassis, a supplier of gas- and diesel-engine chassis to Class A motorhome builders.
Wert, who worked for Fleetwood for 23 years, will oversee the Workhorse sales and marketing efforts for its motorhome chassis as well as product planning for the company’s motorhome and commercial truck chassis businesses.
Earlier, Wert served as division director of sales, marketing and product planning and director of motorhome sales for Fleetwood for northwestern states.
Wert decided to move to Workhorse because he believes “Workhorse has attracted a group of very bright, very experienced and very talented people and I’m pleased to be part of the team,” he said. “As part of this team, I look forward to working with our valued manufacturing and sales partners to bring the motorhome customer more and better choices than ever before.”
In particular, Wert said, he was attracted by the “customer-driven” approach of Workhorse which involves starting “with what customers want and then work backwards with our business partners to figure out how to give it to them.”
Andrew Taitz, chairman and CEO of Workhorse, added that, “Bob (Wert) brings to us an excellent knowledge of the motorhome business along with planning and management skills that will be crucial as we extend and diversify our product lines. We expect him to provide valuable leadership in meeting the needs of the RV customer and our industry partners.”
