On a cold and windy Saturday (Jan. 28), crowds packed West Virginia’s Big Sandy Superstore Arena for the Huntington RV and Boat Show to get a preview of outdoor adventures for the upcoming 2017 recreation season.

The Herald Dispatch reported the weekend-long event drew crowds from across the Tri-State area, with more than 100 RVs, boats and utility vehicles and other products on display from dozens of vendors and dealers.

“Thousands of travelers, campers, boaters and outdoor recreation enthusiasts from all over the region have been coming to the Huntington RV and Boat Show for over three decades,” said show coordinator Jeff Scott, who is with the West Virginia RV and Boat Association, noting this is the 36th running of the show.

Mardy Mollett, 47, of Tomahawk, Ky., said this was the first time he attended the annual event. “I am getting ready to do some full-time RV traveling, so I came out to see what is available and what kind of deals are being offered at this show,” he said.

Mollett said he wants a toy hauler RV, featuring a large ramp door designed to haul gear, while providing living space. “I want the biggest one I can get,” he said. “Once I get it, I plan to equip it with solar panels.”
