Wilkins Recreational Vehicles Inc officially opened its new 40,000-square-foot RV dealership in Churchville, N.Y., today (Sept. 1), holding a ribbon cutting ceremony signify the event.
According to a press release, the new facility consists of a 10,000-square-foot, climate-controlled showroom, 16 full-service RV bays and a 2,300-square-foot parts and accessories store. Located just off Interstate 490, approximately 15 miles west of downtown Rochester, the new dealership replaces a former auto dealership that Wilkins moved into in 2011.
“We are very excited,” stated Brian Wilkins, president of Wilkins RV and acting chairman of the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA). “We moved into this market five years ago and have been well received by the local community. Our new facility gives us the tools to better serve our customers for many years to come.”
Wilkins RV is celebrating the opening of its new facility with a grand opening sales event being held now through Saturday, including a special event the final day that will include acoustical entertainment, hot dogs, burgers, a chicken BBQ and fun events for the kids. Wilkins stated that “he invites everyone to stop out, enjoy the fun, tour the new facility and help us celebrate.”
Wilkins RV was founded by Charles Wilkins in 1936 in Hornell, N.Y. as an auto detail shop. Charles and his son, Ronald, started selling RVs in the 1950’s and Ron ran the business until selling it to his son, and current owner, Brian, in 2004. Wilkins RV moved from Hornell to a 50,000-square-foot dealership in Bath in 2006 and expanded to its second location in Churchville in 2011.
