Gasoline and diesel fuel prices might not have a huge impact on RV sales, but high fuel prices are generally believed to have at least a modestly negative impact on the demand for RVs.
So, crude oil prices jumping to a 10-year high earlier this week was not a good sign for the industry.
However, crude oil futures prices did decline sharply on Friday as traders assumed OPEC ministers would agree over the weekend to raise production levels further.
Crude oil prices spiked higher this week because stock piles of refined products, particularly home heating oil, are low.
Refiners and distributors, at least so far, have been unwilling to build-up their inventories because they did not want to buy crude or refined oil products at near peak prices.
