Winnebago Industries Inc. announced that Ed Barker will assume the role of president for the Forest City, Iowa-based motorhome manufacturer while retaining his position as CFO.
The company said that Chairman and CEO Bruce Hertzke is relinquishing the title of president in order to “focus on the company’s overall direction.” Hertzke was named president in May of 1998 in addition to being CEO and chairman.
The announcement came following a board of directors meeting and the election of Barker on Wednesday (May 4).
“Ed has a great working knowledge of the company and its operations, having worked in senior management positions within Winnebago Industries since 1980,” said Hertzke. “Under his financial leadership, he has helped Winnebago Industries lead the motorhome industry in returns for the company’s shareholders and I have the utmost confidence that he will continue to help the company grow for the future.”
Barker, 57, joined Winnebago in 1969 as a cost accountant and has served in various financial and management positions since that time.
In January 2003, he was promoted to the position of senior vice president and CFO in order to broaden his involvement in all aspects of the operations of the company, while continuing to oversee the company’s financial and purchasing operations, according to Winnebago.
