Winnebago Industries Inc. announced that the company’s board of directors named Sarah Nielsen as vice president-CFO, effective Nov. 14.
Ed Barker will relinquish the title of CFO to “focus on the day-to-day management of the company.” Barker retains his role as president, which he assumed in May from Bruce Hertzke who continues to serve as CEO.
Nielsen, a certified public accountant, joined the Forest City, Iowa-based motorhome builder in August 2005 and has served as director of special projects and training. Prior to joining Winnebago Industries, Nielsen had been employed by Deloitte & Touche LLP in Minneapolis, Minn., since 1995.
“Sarah is a great addition to Winnebago Industries management team,” said Barker. “She brings with her an extensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, Securities and Exchange Commission regulations, and internal control over financial reporting requirements of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board which will be particularly helpful to Winnebago Industries in its continuing compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.”
Nielsen graduated magna cum laude from the University of North Dakota with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
