Winnebago Industries Inc. recently was recognized by Ford Motor Co. for fully meeting the standards established by Ford as part of its Qualified Vehicle Modifier (QVM) program.
Ford is a major supplier of gas-engine Class A motorhome chassis and the leading supplier of Class C motorhome chassis to the RV industry.
Winnebago is the leading producer of Class C’s and the No. 2 producer of Class A’s, when gas and diesel engine units are combined.
Ford decided to honor Winnebago after assessing the company’s engineering capability, design and building process, management commitment and quality control procedures.
Ford evaluates vehicle modifiers in order to assure itself they have the capability and processes in place to complete vehicles in a repeatable manner that maintains the integrity of the Ford chassis system, meets federal and other standards in place at the time of production and provides end users with a product that meets their expectations.
Winnebago has received Ford’s “fully meets” classification since Ford instituted the QVM program in 1997.
“We’re very pleased to receive this classification from Ford Motor Co.,” said Chuck Hughes, director of quality control. “Winnebago Industries works extremely hard to build quality motorhomes, and this recognition proves we are meeting and exceeding quality expectations.”
