Winnebago Industries Inc. will expand its hardwood cabinet production plant in Charles City, Iowa because of the increased demand for solid-wood residential style cabinetry in its 2004 model year motorhomes, the company announced today (July 16).
Construction of the 37,500-square-foot addition will begin this month and 50 additional employees will be hired after it is completed.
Winnebago, based in Forest City, Iowa, will invest around $3.9 million in the cabinet plant expansion, which will include automated equipment such as computer numerically controlled routers and automatic chop saws.
Earlier this month, Winnebago put into operation at its hardwoods plant in Charles City a large cabinet frame finish system and a 3,000-square-foot state-of-the-art stain mixer room, the company said.
Winnebago will unveil its 2004 product offerings during its national dealer meeting in Las Vegas July 27-30.
