Recreational park trailer manufacturer Woodland Park has completed a new 49,500-square-foot factory, which complements its existing manufacturing operations in Middlebury, Ind.
According to a press release, the new facility will enable the firm to eventually triple production.
“We started producing units in the new building earlier this month,” said Dave Burroughs, Woodland Park’s national sales manager, noting that 35 additional employees have already been hired to staff the new facility.
The addition, which provides the 22-year-old company with 80,000 square feet of manufacturing space, will enable Woodland Park to take advantage of rising demand for park models.
Park model shipments were up by a record 30% in 2004 compared to a year earlier, according to the Recreational Park Trailer Industry Association (RPTIA) in Newnan, Ga.
Woodland Park’s sales are also up significantly, and Burroughs sees no let-up in demand, prompting the need for expanded production capacity.
