Workhorse Custom Chassis now is offering a 190-inch wheelbase for its W20 gasoline engine Class A motorhome chassis.
This will add a third wheelbase option to the 208- and 228-inch wheelbases available with the 20,700-pound gross vehicle weight rated (GVWR) W20 chassis.
The 190-inch wheelbase was previously only available for Workhorse P Series chassis with GVWRs of 14,800 to 18,000 pounds.
Workhorse’s W Series chassis includes the W20 and the W22, which has a 22,000-pound GVWR. Both couple the Allison 1000 Series transmission with General Motors’ Vortec 8100 engine.
“It’s a winning combination of power, performance and best-in-class ride and handling that now can be integrated into a mid-sized motorhome,” said Tony Monda, Workhorse director of motorhome marketing. “This gives manufacturers another way to satisfy customers looking for the market-leading benefits of the W Series chassis in a mid-sized coach.
“The heavier-duty chassis allows manufacturers the capability to include upgraded amenities and provide more storage capacity in a smaller floorplan,” Monda added. “Consumers were asking for this option and Workhorse has responded to a market need.”
