Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park at Lake Monroe in Bloomington, Ind., has hired new employees and significantly expanded its daily recreation program, which includes arts and crafts activities for the entire family.

According to a press release, the park has also renovated its playground, created a new sandbox play area, and added a new indoor recreation room for rainy day activities. These are in addition to Yogi Bear’s Water Zone, which was completed last year. The additions complement the park’s other attractions which include an outdoor pool, kid’s pool with splash feature, jumping pillow, kiddie train rides, nature trails, gem mining, and pedal karts.

The park has also added eight new RV campsites, four new cabin rentals, and renovated its 10 “Hoosier Hideaway” and “White Pine” cabins, each of which now have new screened-in porches, outdoor furniture, outside barbecue grills and concrete pads for picnic tables.

The interiors of these cabins have also been remodeled with new futons, sinks and kitchen appliances. In addition, the White Pine cabins now feature bunk beds, which are popular with families with kids.

“Our weekends are booked for the whole month of July already, although we still have some vacancies during the week,” said Rachael Stine, general manager, adding that the campground has mid-week specials that offer a free night of camping to those who camp at least three or four nights.

Many of the new visitors to Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park are cabin campers, which is why the park is adding more rental accommodations.

“Our cabin business is definitely growing,” Stine said. “Families can still experience the camping atmosphere even if they don’t own an RV or choose to tent camp.”
